EDUCATION WORKSHOPS
Makerspace Adelaide has partnered with Green Industries SA to develop and deliver two amazing hands-on workshops that showcase critical and design thinking, as well as preparing young minds for both the challenges and opportunities that are already facing us on a planet with finite resources
WORKSHOP 1: CIRCULAR BY DESIGN
Participants will be introduced to the concepts of linear vs circular economy design. They will be encouraged to pull apart and analyze common products, identify materials and ways to redesign the products with circularity in mind. Inspired by the tools in the Makerspace, they will work from concept to creation supported by two dedicated facilitators.

Cost: $750 + GST per workshop session
WORKSHOP 2: SCIENCE OF WASTE RECLAIMING
The aim of this workshop is to introduce participants to the application and understanding of material sciences to the processes that go into recovering resources. The session provides opportunities for both students and educators to engage in hands-on STEM activities as important applications to the Circular Economy and Sustainability. This workshop goal is to also help support the messaging of the 'Which Bin?' community education campaign by Green Industries SA.
Learning Areas: Science, Mathematics, Design Technologies, Humanities and Social Sciences, Business & Economics, and Sustainability.
Cost: $450 + GST first session, $250 + GST for each additional session per same day
We have a range of additional workshops and activities that will suit a range of budgets, ages, and class sizes. Our promise is to provide fun and engaging hands-on learning experiences that will challenge students to critically think, design, and innovate as well as use fine motor skills
STE(A)M, SUSTAINABILE FUTURES AND THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Join us in an engaging and hands-on session to help you understand the circular economy and its long-term impacts on learners and STEM jobs of the future. This is not just about sustainability but includes the areas of material sciences, critical and design thinking, human social and economic development, as well as practical engagement tools that can be used to create larger topics of discussion and exploration for your learners.
